My DV2777TX

Some things are not meant to be meddle around with, there's a reason why HP doesn't supply Windows XP drivers for my laptop.

Speedstep ISSUE !

The Windows XP Speedstep is the main issue, where when there's no load the processor will run at 50% speed to save power.

When there's a load of more than 38%, then only the CPU will run at max. Supposedly the power scheme "always on" in Windows XP will disable the Speedstep, but it doesn't!

So now, whenever I load an application or load a page that uses more than 38% the cpu will lag for a second and run at full throttle, max speed 2100mhz, after finish loading it will return back to 50%.

I can't stand that one second lag(come on that's LONG !) where in Window Vista, the lappy have no problem with lag issues even with Speedstep on and I'm on the latest BIOS! zZzZ, too updated that XP cant understand?

Due to the fact that HP doesn't provide Window XP drivers for my DV2777TX, I went back to the hardware manufacturer to get my drivers, after a whooping 8 hours of searching, I manage to get everything working.

MIC issue
some how Conexant doesn't provide the drivers for my soundcard because it came paired with my 56k modem(who gives a shit bout 56k modem in their laptop?), I forced another laptop driver into my DV, the audio codec works, no modem, who cares? After I found out that the mic is not working, it took me another 5-6 hours to find the driver but this time i failed to get one with mic working. I guess I have to live without the mic.

GPU
The latest graphic driver for 8400M GS for windows xp is not up to date, and it gives me shit temperature doing the same stuffs I've been doing all these while with Windows Vista.

where normally in Vista using the latest drivers I get 50C and NO BSOD coz the GPU became so hot the lappy shuts itself down in Windows XP.

In short, HP DV2700 series are not meant to run Windows XP and I can't believe that I'm saying this!

I'm going to change back to Windows Vista ASAP when I get my recovery discs, which is in Ipoh, my hometown.

The main reason I change to Windows XP is because PRO Engineer 2.0 only supports XP, but after I formated my friend manage to get the PRO E 4.0 and with a few tweaking and CXACKING it runs smoothly on VISTA!!

=.="

This time my vista will have all the bling bling! no more classic look, 3gb ram is more than enough to have all the themes wallpaper sidebar and all those useless flashy stuffs on the lappy !

Unlike those ricers, just for show and when load application takes up to a minute to load, its gonna have both the performance and looks, where last time all I care was about performance.

I'll be back with my lappy in Vista once AGAIN!
